About Beder

Beder is a mental health and suicide prevention charity providing free access to therapy whilst taking a unique approach to softly raising awareness.

Our story

Built from lived experience and a belief that conversations can save lives

Beder was founded by Razzak Mirjan and his family in November 2019 following the loss of Beder Mirjan, who sadly took his own life at the age of 18 in April 2017.

The charity exists to provide free therapy, help people speak more openly about mental health and build a community of likeminded people with practical routes to supporting their mental health.

Every campaign, event and partnership is designed to meet people where they are: in workplaces, sports clubs, creative spaces and around the everyday moments where honest conversations can begin.

Our work is about making support feel human, visible and easier to reach.

What we believe

Mental health support should feel open, practical and part of everyday life

Beder creates safe, inclusive spaces for people to learn, talk and reach out. The work is hopeful without being superficial, direct without feeling clinical, and grounded in community action.

Partnerships
Beder partners with likeminded business and brands to build authentic, meaningful and impactful partnerships
Our Vision

To challenge the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide prevention, stimulate a dialogue to softly raise awareness and provide a platform for us all to play our part in normalising the conversation around these important societal issues.

Our Mission

To lead the way collaboratively, build meaningful and authentic relationships with our partners and supporters whilst creating greater accessibility to information and opportunities to promote self care and manage our mental health.

Our approach
The Beder Values

These three values – collaborative leadership; sustainable, long-term impact; soft-touch and personal approach, are deeply rooted in everything we do and are the driving force behind the way we operate

01
Collaborative Leadership

We are not here to compete with the other existing charities. We have our own unique approach and believe in working alongside other organisations to further their amazing work while achieving our common goal.

02
Long Term Impact

We strive for our work to have genuine, longterm and sustainable impact. We believe that initiating conversations and creating safe spaces where a range of perspectives and experiences can be heard is key to this.

03
Soft, Personal Approach

We prioritise taking a soft-touch approach to raising awareness, with empathy at the forefront of everything we do. We want to help make talking about what is on your mind less daunting and overwhelming.
