BEDER THERAPY VOUCHERS

What are Beder Therapy Vouchers?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when youʼre already struggling. Many people donʼt know where to begin, worry about choosing the “wrongˮ therapist, or fear having to explain themselves over and over again.

Beder wants to help people overcome the typical barriers to entry when it comes to accessing therapy such as it being unaffordable and lengthy wait times, so Beder Therapy Vouchers will offer people up to 6 x 50 minute sessions with a licensed therapist through the Meela Platform.

Meela is a mental health platform that helps people find a therapist who genuinely fits them. Instead of searching endlessly or being assigned someone at random, Meela focuses on matching each person with a licensed psychologist or psychotherapist who feels right for them from the very start.

Beder x Meela

We hope the Beder Therapy Vouchers can be the start of something meaningful, an opportunity to take a first step into therapy and experience the value of speaking to someone in a safe, supportive space, tailored to you. You donʼt have to carry everything on your own, especially during challenging times.

Through Meela, youʼll be matched with a licensed psychologist or psychotherapist and can meet them through online sessions, or in person where available. Meela focuses on finding a therapist who feels right for you, so you can start therapy with greater confidence and ease.

Once your therapy sessions funded through the Beder Therapy Voucher have come to an end, you wonʼt be left on your own. If you feel that continuing therapy could be helpful, youʼll have the option to continue with your therapist or find a new match through Meela, at your own pace and according to your needs.

Benefits of Therapy

BETTER UNDERSTAND YOURSELF

We often run on autopilot doing things that we feel we have to and what is expected of us.

Therapy provides a chance to understand ourselves whether it is as simple as our likes and dislikes to what we really want out of life.

Once you do that, you can spend your life doing the things you actually want to do, rather than wasting time on things that you think you should be doing.

LEARN NEW SKILLS FOR COPING

In the same way that we learn to walk, read or write, we need to learn how to cope with the different situations we encounter in life.

Those challenging situations can be in your personal life, at home, amongst family or professionally at work.

Just like any other kind of skill, these can be learnt; and that can be done in therapy working with a therapist who will provide you with new and helpful mechanisms to cope with your day-to-day life in a constructive manner.

ACHIEVE GOALS

In therapy, goals are not only about what you want to change, but about understanding why certain patterns, feelings, or difficulties keep showing up in your life.

Together with your therapist, you will explore what matters most to you, what may be holding you back, and how past experiences can influence your thoughts, emotions, and relationships today. From this understanding, meaningful and realistic goals can take shape.

As therapy progresses, insight and self-awareness often lead to lasting change. Achieving your goals can strengthen your sense of self, increase confidence in your own capacity, and support motivation to care for what is truly important to you.

IMPROVE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS

We create a range of relationships throughout our life. It can be hard to start realising which relationships are important to you, and which ones are not.

For example, you might realise that you have been friends with someone for a long time but the friendship is no longer healthy for you.

Therapy can teach you how to argue less and communicate more effectively whilst ensuring your boundaries are held and negative relationship patterns donʼt arise in the future.

Why Meela matching matters

Your voucher gives you access to Meelaʼs full matching process, as well as six therapy sessions through the Beder Therapy Vouchers programme. Instead of being given a long list of therapists to choose from on your own, Meela creates a personalised shortlist

based on your needs, preferences, and what youʼre looking for support with. This makes it easier to find a therapist who feels meaningful and right for you.

Through the Beder collaboration, hundreds of licensed therapists are registered with Meela and ready to support voucher holders. They work with a range of therapeutic approaches, allowing the match to be tailored to you as an individual, not just a diagnosis or label.

NEEDS & GOALS

We consider what you want support with, and how, such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions, to guide the match.

PERSONAL PREFERENCES

Preferences such as therapist gender, culture, age, communication style, and session format (online or in-person) are included to improve comfort and engagement.

RESEARCH-BASED FIT

Meelaʼs matching is grounded in evidence that a strong therapeutic alliance, the connection between client and therapist is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes.

FAQ

Meela is a mental health platform that helps people find the right therapist through personalised, research-based matching. Meela was founded by Tiffany Boswell with the belief that therapy works best when you feel truly understood by the person you’re speaking to.

Meela works with a network of 600+ licensed therapists, including psychologists and psychotherapists, offering therapy online and in person where available.

Meela’s matching is built on research into the therapeutic alliance, the relationship and sense of trust between client and therapist, which is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes in therapy. Through a short and confidential questionnaire, Meela considers your needs, preferences, and what you’re looking for support with, and then presents a personalised shortlist of therapists so you can choose who feels right for you.

The goal is simple: to make it easier to start therapy, and to increase the chance that therapy genuinely helps.

Complete your matching and start therapy

Using the link from Meela, youʼll answer a short, confidential questionnaire. Based on your answers, weʼll match you with therapists who fit your needs and preferences so you can choose who feels right and begin therapy when youʼre ready. Once youʼve chosen, and we have informed the therapist of your Beder Voucher, you can book your first session and begin therapy, knowing the match has been made thoughtfully, not randomly.

Your first six sessions will be completely free through the Beder Therapy Vouchers, giving you the opportunity to try therapy and see whether it feels beneficial for you. If you choose to continue therapy through Meela, youʼll be able to do so privately.

If you are selected to receive a Beder Therapy Voucher you will be provided with a unique voucher. With this voucher, you will be able to go through the matching process via Meelas website, in order to receive up to six free 50 minute therapy sessions. If you would like to continue with therapy through Meela then you will be able to do so privately and payment can be made directly with Meela by credit or debit card.

Each therapy session with Meela is around 50 minutes and it is online or in person, subject to the therapist availability and location. For some therapists there will be only online sessions available, but most offer both online and in person sessions.

We aim to offer an available appointment within two weeks. In most cases, people are able to book a first session sooner than that, depending on availability and preferences.

Please note that neither Beder or Meela are a crisis service and referral forms are not reviewed daily.
